Imaginary young girls appear on the canvas of Laurence Chouzenoux. Stylized faces, large enigmatic black eyes, pink cheekbones, each of them opens the door to a world of candor and mysteries. They infuse this strange sense of déjà vu, like reassuring and intriguing family portraits.
The painter sits in front of the canvas and she becomes Alice in Wonderland. She creates each new portrait from a scent, a memory. She constantly looks for a balance between a great fragility and the strength of their gaze.
Laurence Chouzenoux offers a journey to the heart of the intimate through each new portrait which is also a reflection of her soul.

Laurence Chouzenoux was born in 1971. She lives and works in Brive-la-Gaillarde.
