Elia Pagliarino summons the great models of art history with a question as a starting point: why do certain portraits become icons? By carrying out a documented investigation, the artist takes up each portrait by imbuing it with the story that accompanied their original creation. The style exercise focuses on the contours, the limits, those that allow it to be recognizable and identifiable. A work that is both complex and playful on popular memory.
Elia Pagliarino was born in 1967. She lives and works in South of France.
